100 greatest music videos

Christina Aguilera's Dirrty in 14th in the 100 greatest music videos. This video is to help change Christina Aguilera's image form a young girl in the Mickey Mouse club to a sexy women.

11th in the top 100 is The Scientist by Coldplay. This is one of the 100 greatest videos due to the skill and technology needed when filming and lip sinking. While filming the directors realised that if the person lipsinking simply lip sinked backwards then this will not work. To make it look ike he was lipsinking when the film was played bacwards the singer would have to learn a special way of doing this. The way how the whole footage and the lip sinking is executed makes this video deserving of being in the top 100 music videos.

Preliminary task review

For the preliminary task we had to make a music video of a verse and chorus of "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". By doing the preliminary task I learned how to record lips sinking from different angles and at what distances lip sinking can and cant be seen at. I also learned how to edit the music video. Even though I have done editing before, this is different as you have to line the music up exactly to the lip sinking whereas before when I have edited this did not have to be done.

Animatic for our music video

100 Greatest music videos

55 on the top 100 is Fat Boy Slim's Praise You, made in 1999 is an iconic music video as it shows a dance group dancing outside a cinema. The video also shows the responses of onlookers as this was a set up and none of the audience knew what this was for.  The video was shot in one take and was taken on 5 handheld video cameras.

35th in the 100 greatest videos is Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor made in 1990. The song is a cover of U2's which was not a big hit for them. The video adds value to the song due to the pure emotions that are shown in the video. During the video Sinead cries over the death of her own mother. This adds real emotion to the video which will not come across unless it is in the video.

100 Greatest music videos

65th in the Greatest music videos was George Michael with Outside released in 1998. The video is about public sex and shows many scenes of this.  Shots are taken from a helicopter and what looks like CCTV cameras.  This is meant to show the views of the police.  This video was made after George Michael was arrested for having sex in a public toilet.

The Prodigy's Smack my Bitch up in 1997 was a music video that caused an outrage due to the questionable behaviour. The whole video is filmed in a point of view shot and was shot in one night.

Digipak

A Digipak is traditional a card outing with a plastic tray to hold the CD in place.
The things that will normally be seen on a digipak are:

The name of the artist and the name of the album.
The list of tracks on the CD.
The barcode on the back of the Digipak.
The record company logo and any additional information about them.
Disk impression and separate disk design.
6 Panels.
A spine with the name of the artist and/or album.
And an image of the artist on the inside.

The name of artist is in large white writing at the top of the cover to make it stand out and so it would be automatically recognised.
The picture shows Lana Del Rey the artist of the album.
Album title at the bottom of the page is a different colour to all other colours in the picture. This makes the title stand out and allowing anyone viewing it to remember the title of the album.
