Album cover
After analysing this together we realised that the main idea of the rainbow spectrum over a image of band members was very good however with this picture as the back ground and the font the way it is we realised it didn't work. The picture does not work as the character at the foreground looks like he is sad and his eyes are showing this.
Font
For our digipak and poster we have used dafont.com to find a perfect font these documents. We have chosen badaboom font as it stands out.
Digipak inspiration
For our digipak we have took inspiration of a simple but effective digipak cover from Pink floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". It is a very simple design showing a white line turning into colours of the rainbow after being refracted. This digipak was very successful and is one of Pink Floyd's well known albums. We believe that the colours of the rainbow will be good in our cover as it is an image of the bands name.
Digipak cover
We have made the first draft of the digipak album. It is a simple design however it covers what we want the digipak to show, which is the Name of the band and the song and an image to enhance these.
Poster
Over the weekend one of the group members started to make the poster digitalised. The out line and text has been completed however the colour drops and colour sections still have to be added.
Story board for Narrative
This is the story board for the narrative for our music video. The image above is our narrative story board.

Poster and Digipak cover
Today we started to create the poster and digipak cover on the computer. We decided that these are going to be very similar but will have slight verities. This is usually done in the music industry where the digipak are similar to the poster.
We already have a design for the them but we need to digitally create it. I started to do this however after reviewing my artistic creativity and lack of skills when using Adobe Illustrator the group decided that one of the others in my group would be better off doing this as they have more creative skills and have more experience when using this programme.

Progression of the music video
Since we started, our music video has progressed a lot. We started with very little ideas and when pressured to start filming we went to location and started to film spur of the moment takes which were not planned. Some of these spur of the moment shots can be seen on my blog named test shots.
One of these are shots of a member lip sinking while riding around on a toy car. The filming was relatively good with the lack of equipment we had however we decided that this was not what we wanted in our music video. We have since decided on lip sinking in different locations while a narrative is told in an unusual way. Our new plan has been written about.

Digipak
Today we made our plan for the digipak. A plan of it is the picture above. The top line is what will be seen on the out side and the bottom is what will be seen on the front. The cd case will be in the middle box on the bottom. Each box will have a length 125mm, a width of 140mm. Each spine will be 5 mm to allow them to fold.
Poster
Over the weekend a rough draft of the poster was made. It is going to be remodelled on photoshop over the next week to make it look more professional.
Narrative
For the narrative we have chosen to be a bit creative and are going to use a different media type in our music video. We are going to use a process called Stop Motion. This is an animation type that uses hundreds of pictures to give the effect of movement. We chose to do this as we currently have still images to show the narrative. We thought to make this better we would make stop motion.
This is a tried and tested method of use in music videos as Peter Gabriel used it with the song Sledge Hammer which I have written about on a previous post.
In addition to Sledge Hammer another example of stop motion is:
For our stop motion narrative it will fill approximately 30 seconds of the video and will be shot at 14 frames per second. This means that over 400 single photographs will have to be taken to fill the 30 seconds of stop motion.

Editing
Today we put what we filmed yesterday on to final cut express and started to cut and edit the takes. We are yet to choose the takes we are going to use however we hope to get another test on youtube in the coming weeks. We have also had a change of plan with the narrative which will be announced in the up coming days.

Filming
Today we went out and did some filming in a local park where we filmed out side shots that we could you at the end of the video. We also took takes of lip sinking as it allows us to mix or chose between the shots.
