To protect a creators materials and ideas the Copyright, Designs and Patents act 1988 was introduced. This act gives the creator rights to control how their material is use. The rights of control allow a creator to decide whether their material can be adapted, publicly performed and who they allow the material to be used by. This act in the music industry covers song lyrics, recordings and score.
For my music video I cannot break this act and therefore have found a way to use someone else's music but will not break this act. To do this I e-mailed the owner of the rights to the song asking them if I could use it for my music Video. I was given permission and by doing this I am making sure that the Copyright act is not being broken.
